Welcome to Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi
We represent the NDP’s presence in the federal riding of Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi. Pontiac is a beautiful riding that truly mirrors Canada. It covers a large territory in the province of Quebec and its population is bilingual. While portions of the riding are urban areas, most of its territory is rural. It is also home to the Kitigan Zibi Indian Reserve. The Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi NDP riding association not only acknowledges these characteristics, but cherishes them.
Meet Gilbert
Gilbert W. Whiteduck is the first Algonquin Anishinabè running to be NDP Candidate in Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi Riding
Mr. Whiteduck has been active in the riding for many years and brings a wealth of experience. He holds a B.Ed., Hon. BSW, M.Ed., and a Certificate in Indigenous Law as well as an Honorary Doctorate Degree for his work in Education. He currently works as a certified therapist for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders and has deep experience in many areas, including health care, law, environment, and heritage issues as well as education.
